It’s been a while

Sorry about that. Jennie and I have been wacky busy with all kinds of school and what not.

I finished one of my classes and I now officially have 6 class meetings left until I have my Masters. It has been a long long time coming.

What else has been going on?

Jennie’s Uppercase Living site now will let you order directly, so that is cool.

WKU’s basketball team continues to let me down. But honestly it isn’t their fault, they can’t help it. They will always be a mid major playing in a tournament that is not going to be won by a mid major.

On a better basketball note, I will be watching Louisville play up in Indy this weekend. Go Cards? Sure why not.

And finally, I bought what you see below. There is nothing I hate worse then mowing. Ugh. I might hate terrorists or Dicky V more…maybe.

Ok, we will try to update the site more often.

Superbowl Yummies

Here at the Webb home, we celebrate with sweet treats.  The Superbowl was no exception.  Check out these cute Rice Krispy Treat footballs I made for the big game.  They have peanut butter in them and are delicious!  They kind of look like meat, so Chad said to tell people they were sausage balls.  I guess you could make football-shaped sausage balls or mini meat-loafs then pipe mashed potatoes for the laces.  Who knows?  Maybe I will try it sometime.

Murder Mystery Prize

You may recall that back in November, Chad and I attended a murder mystery dinner in which we won a pretty necklace.  Although lovely, the red jewelry was just not me.  So, I contacted the local silversmith who created it, Kay Zoretic, and she kindly agreed to let me exchange the necklace for something I would like.  I looked on her website Etsy.com. There were several pieces that I liked and she told me she could design a new piece just for me.  After some communication, I decided on a three circle silver necklace and matching earrings.  We finally met up today to make the exchange.  Here are the earrings and necklace she made for me.

I like them a lot and think they will be nice to wear with anything.  She is going to take parts of the “murder mystery jewelry” and create other pieces of jewelry.  I will keep my eye out for pieces of my former prize on her website.

Did you hear me?

Does anyone listen to 88.1 Way FM in the morning?  The show is “Mornings with Brant.”  If you were listening yesterday around 7:20, you might have heard me on the radio.  I was the one who won the kamikaze karaoke.  Brant played his accordion and sang a line from Little Drummer Boy.  “Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum”  Two people before me guessed, but were wrong.  Then, when they got to me, I sang “The ox and lamb kept time, ba rum bum bum bum.”  He acted like he wasn’t going to give it to me because I said “ba rum bum bum bum” instead of “pa rum pum pum pum,” but they eventually decided that I won!  I won a CD, but I don’t even know what it is yet.  I thought that was cool because it’s not just a local station or anything.  The best part was that they recorded it during a commercial break so I had time to call Chad and tell him to turn it to 88.1 and he was able to listen to it.  Anyway, did anybody else hear me?

I’m a Mac

I recently received a brand new MacBook from my work.  I’m really excited about it.  A couple months ago, I went to some training on how to use a MacBook because our school now has a mobile lab of 30 McBooks.  Ever since then, I’ve felt really comfortable using the laptops, and I’m glad I am now considered a proud “custodian” of one.  It doesn’t quite have the same ring as proud owner, but it is technically still Simpson County property.  I had to apply for it and accept responsibility for it if anything happens to it, but I still get to use it as if it were my very own.  Now I can join Chad on the couch as we watch TV and play on our (employer’s) computers.  Talk about quality time!
